Motutapu Restoration Trust

The island's revegetation project has just played home to the first takahe released there. Since late last century all Living Earth Garden Mix sent there has been carefully packed on a predator-free ferry to arrive at its destination for use in growing the NZ plants you see on the Island.

Our kaupapa embraces sustainable development, and that means making sure our future generations know the importance of reducing waste, restoring soils, and caring for the environment. We've provided learning resources and bags of our compost mix to school environment groups so our rangatahi can nourish their school community gardens.
