Living Earth’s More Than Lawn Mix is a high-performance mix designed for the creation and renewal of healthy, resilient lawns. It offers excellent structure and drainage, making it ideal for lawn establishment and topdressing.

Screened for consistency and ease of use, this premium blend combines organic compost with fine bark, sand, pumice, and a proprietary fertiliser mix. It supports strong root development and even growth.

  • QUALITY STANDARD

    We take great care to bring you premium product. Our products are created from recovered green waste and comply with NZS 4454:2005 for Composts, Soil Conditioners, and Mulches.

  • APPLICATION AND BEST PRACTICE

    Spread More Than Lawn Mix evenly over prepared soil to establish new lawns or repair bare patches.

    • New lawns: Apply at 50–100 mm depth over loosened soil, then sow seed or lay turf
    • Renovating lawns: Rake into thin layers to even out low spots and improve soil quality
    • Ongoing care: Top up seasonally to maintain growth and root development

    Water well after application and keep soil moist until grass is established.

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • Avoid contact with eyes and skin
    • Do not inhale dust or mists; wear a mask if needed
    • Wear gloves and protective clothing
    • Wash hands and work clothes after use
    • Clean spills using wet sweeping or a vacuum
    • Store in a cool, dry place
    • Avoid opening bags in enclosed areas
    • Seek medical advice if symptoms occur

  • HANDLING NOTE

    • Store in a clean, dry, ventilated area
    • Protect from rain and direct sunlight
    • Seal opened bags to prevent contamination
    • Store off the ground (use pallets)
    • Cover bulk stockpiles
    • Avoid compaction (do not drive over piles)
    • Do not mix with other soils to maintain weed-free status

Living Earth products are made with compost produced from Auckland’s green waste. Small inorganic items may occasionally remain after processing and screening.

GETTING STARTED

Step 1

This product must be mixed into your existing soil.

Step 2

Dig Living Earth Organic Compost through the soil in your garden or your raised garden beds before planting. Dig a 50mm layer of compost into your soil.

Step 3

Feed your plants with Living Earth Organic Liquid Compost. It's the perfect partner for your garden.

Step 4

For best results apply Living Earth Organic Compost twice yearly. Your plants will dig it!

  • How much Lawn Mix do I use?

    • For new lawns: Use it at 30-50mm depth on newly cultivated soil that has been cleared of weeds and old turf. Sow lawn seed and water lightly but thoroughly each day, until the grass is well established.
    • For Renovating lawns: Cultivate bare patches in your lawn and apply a layer of Living Earth More Than Lawn Mix to 20-30mm. Sow lawn seed and water lightly but thoroughly each day, until the grass is well established.
